The fete must go on!

Look ya, no piddly arsed hurricane warning is going to get in the way of a good jump up. This is St Lucia, land of the extreme party animal and I have it on the best authority that we eh go cancel no carnival shows this week, Emily or no Emily.

The Colour Me Red party is definitely on for tonight says Events Coordinator for the carnival band Red International, Charles Simon. Trini Soca sensation Shurwayne Winchester and his posse are in town for the show, as is Destra, and apparently that's reason enough to give the finger to the squally weather. This afternoon's Mas on de Square is a go, despite torrential rainfall; and the only change in this week's itinerary is a venue shift for the Inter-Commercial House Calypso Competition to some place with a roof.

You heard it right people, while the National Emergency Management Office, NEMO, begs us to stop being, well, typical laissez faire Lucians and batten down the hatches; the rest of us will be wokin' it up. Correction, the rest of them will be wokin' it up, I'll be snuggled deep under my covers petitioning the powers that be to spare our tail parts.
